Did Adam and Eve both have brown eyes? Does that mean that the Creation Museum realizes that there was a genetic mutation much later along that allowed for the blue eyes they so covet?

And there are Christians who are along the lines of what you were discussing in the podcast. We are scorned by the fundies but have thriving communities that actually see our mission as serving others rather than browbeating them over literal Biblical nitpicks.

Oh, I know there are! When I was a kid, my mom worked at the Catholic college at the university in our town, so we knew many priests who were part of the Jesuit scholarly tradition and didn’t chalk up scientific reality to…you know, the direct intervention of God and stuff.

We do exist, and we are horribly, horribly ashamed of what you saw in that “museum”. ::shudder::

Just a few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of breaking it to my intellegent, conservative raised friend that she did, in fact, believe in evolution, even though she said she didn’t.

“Do you believe that lifeforms gradually change to adapt to their surroundings and needs?”
“Oh, yeah, I believe that happens.”
“Ok, then you believe in evolution.”

People. Evolution is not defined as the opposite of creation. The sooner we all understand this, the happier we can be!
