Linda’s post on the Vulture blog today reminded me of something I was bitching about this weekend: we saw an ad for Tropic Thunder during the Saturday Night Live season finale. Which aired on May 17. Tropic Thunder is not in cinemas until AUGUST 15! Am I to expect three full months of ads for this thing? Because I want to see it, but getting harassed about it every time I make the mistake of watching live TV, I’m going to do so very resentfully. I mean, I thought it was bad when the first ad for Fred Claus aired in September, but now a two-month lead time seems practically reasonable.
