I think I’m pretty firmly on the record here as not being a fan of your current president. But when I saw last week that they’re still conducting polls on what kind of job people think he’s doing, I kind of felt bad for him! I know, it’s weird! But he’s on his way out already. Most days I barely even remember that he still is president. It kind of seems like even he is trying to keep a low profile right now and just step out of office as gracefully as possible like the last crewman stepping off the Titanic just before it sank below the waves. Like, is he going to do anything now that’s likely to change people’s opinion of him, in either direction? No. He’s probably already packing his stuff in the White House, for God’s sake! It just seems kind of peevish to keep kicking him when he’s down.
On the other hand, for results like these to hurt his feelings, he would have to, like, follow the news. So I suppose I can stop feeling bad on his behalf.

Gotta be honest, I don’t think he deserves better. Maybe that makes me as much of a bully as he is…
