I was going through my sites this morning and came across this post on Torontoist. I swear to God, I saw that guy at my gate at the airport yesterday. I think he was even wearing the same shoes. I know it seems weird that I would have paid that much attention to some random at the airport, but he was also wearing a baby pink cardigan and a straw fedora, so he obviously really wanted me to. Also, he was sitting next to this girl who apparently hadn’t brought any reading material or an MP3 player to the airport and just sat there staring into space for about half an hour before fishing my discarded New Yorker out of the recycling bin and flipping through it to look at all the comics. It always freaks me out when I see people at the airport or on the plane who are just content to sit there doing nothing. What are they planning?

UPDATE: It was definitely the guy I saw at the airport: here he is. And to make the world EVEN SMALLER, we have friends in common. Uh, sorry I kind of made fun of your hat, dude! (But in my defense: come on, it’s March. And 2008.)

Haha — Yes, that’s my friend Ross!

I also should have mentioned that the girl next to him staring off into space was not his new bride — just some other chick with poor planning skills.

I was even at the city hall wedding not knowing it would soon be immortalized on Torontoist.
