Movie TheatreWe said we were changing format in the new year, and we meant it. Now you can vote on which movie Will and I see, and subsequently recap. Will has stated his preference. I do not share his views.

Fine, I’ll quit being cute: I don’t want to see Avatar. I’m on my honour not to stuff the ballot box in favour of one of the two others, but I can implore you guys to help me out. I hear you can vote as often as you want. Find out!

I’m here for you. I paid money to see Surrogates (which, okay, was a mistake). I’ll go see Legion opening weekend. But even I have my limits, and Avatar is where I draw the line, because everyone else may think those things are giant blue cats, but they’ve got pointy ears and they hang out with dragons: I know a goddamned elf when I see one.

I saw Avatar. I may have to vote for it just to see if you hate it as much as I did? I can’t handle more comments from friends and coworkers about how it was the BEST MOVIE EVER.

Okay, so I just watched Twilight the other day… yeah. I hadn’t seen Up in the Air yet and didn’t make the connection that Anna Kendrick was in both movies. I sincerely thought that she was the only legitimately good thing about Twilight, and she was pretty awesome in Up in the Air.

With that said, I voted for Youth in Revolt, because I want that recapped.

Look, people, it’s fine to be annoyed at Avatar and it’s superfandom. That’s fine. As I said on my site, I don’t care what movie wins, I’d gladly see Up in the Air. But this poll is not the place to voice your frustrations. This poll is based on what movie you want to see recapped, and criticized. A personal vendetta against Avatar should be incentive to vote FOR the movie, not against it. Tara is acting as as an Orwellian Big Brother, guiding your votes for her causes. But this is a democratic society, and your vote is your own. San Dimas High School football rules.

Will, you told me to campaign — nay, you goaded me to — and I did. Don’t turn into a revisionist historian just because your plan backfired on you.

I can’t get to the poll at work, so I can’t see the choices, but what I’d love to see you recap is New Moon. =)

Avatar, but only because I want to see you smash Dances With Smurfs… I’m tired of hearing about it. The special effects are the only reason to see Ferngully Goes to War, so if you do see it, see it in true IMAX 3D.

For Beth. (From the homepage.

When do polls close though?

I think I have to abide by whatever is in first place when I get to the office Friday morning. As of this writing, Up In The Air and Avatar are in a DEAD HEAT. Stop voting for Youth In Revolt!

I voted for Avatar, just because of the awesome recap that would follow from a geeked-out Will and a pissed-off Tara. heh.

Tara Ariano January 9, 2010 at 7:20 pm

He’s not even a geek! He hates fanboys! He was just agitating for Avatar out of spite. And anyway, he lost.
