My brother was always the passenger and my parents would either vanish or not be there to start with. We'd be hurtling down the hill by our house. Now that I drive but don't drive stick, I've had it with the addition of a stick shift car that I can't get to work. And the test one still pops up, too--usually a math class. Doesn't help that I once had a real-life exam nightmare in college: One class rescheduled the final for during one of my other finals, so I'd arranged to take one and then start the second late. But my alarm didn't go off. Both started at 9 a.m.; I arrived, panting, at classroom 1 at 9:50 or so. Through sheer dumb luck it worked out, but .... argh.
